This year I’m thrilled to list a whole buncha books I rated as 5 stars. Most are Sapphic (with most of them romances) and a good number are Jewish fiction and one non-fiction. So without further ado, here’s the list:

Sapphic Romance

Finding the Grain by Wynn Malone — a book I’ve been holding a while, it is a beautifully written rich girl-poor girl second chance romance set in the US South.

Requiem for Immortals by Lee Winter — a favorite of many and now I know why. Set in Australia, an underworld assassin who’s also a renown cellist is hired to kill a seemingly innocent woman. But no matter how much she needs to do the job, she can’t make herself go through with it. Strong writing and many plot twists.

Rough Around the Edges by Crystal Chard — A strong debut, poor girl with issues and university professor meet in a nursing home where poor girl’s mother is a resident. The book’s strength is in character development. A well-done arc.

At Seventeen by Gerri Hill — one of the great authors of Sapphic romance doesn’t disappoint. Another rich girl-poor girl, second chance pairing also set in the US South (notice a trend in my reading?).
