Last year, almost to the day, I published a series of predictions here for the year ahead. In these waning days of 2021, let’s review my predictions and see how I did. I rated each guess as either ACCURATE, SO-SO, or TERRIBLE. Here we go:

The PANDEMIC

Resistance to masks and attendance at super-spreader events will become part and parcel of the pro-Trump/anti-Biden agenda. ACCURATE, especially when you include anti-vax attitudes as another cause of widening polarization.

Wait time and lines [for vaccines] will be longer, prompting more unrest and more attempts to break into the front of the line. SO-SO, this did happen but wasn’t nearly as widespread across the country because of (see above).

POLITICS & POLICY

Unless the January 5th elections go his way, Biden will have a difficult time with the Senate. SO-SO, the difficult time occurred even though the Jan 5th elections went his way.

Pelosi will not have an easy time in the House now that her majority has shrunk and the Progressive wing has a number of pent up demands. ACCURATE, more accurate than not since
